KSP launches annual “Cram the Cruiser” food drive to fight hunger statewide

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are kicking off their annual “Cram the Cruiser” food drive and are encouraging Kentuckians to help fight hunger across the Commonwealth.

KSP says all 16 posts across the state will be collecting non-perishable food items, including canned meats, peanut butter, soups and other shelf-stable goods. Troopers will be set up at various community locations throughout the next several weeks to help gather donations.

Last year, KSP collected more than 200,000 pounds of food — with Post 16 contributing more than half of that total at over 100,000 pounds.

Troopers will be accepting donations through December 5. A full list of collection sites and dates is available through Kentucky State Police.
