No. 20 Kentucky stays perfect with a 41 point win over Purdue at HMC

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky picked up its first win of the season over a Power Conference opponent with a 76–35 blowout victory against Purdue. This marks the second straight game at historic Memorial Coliseum in which the Wildcats have allowed 35 or fewer points.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures. Clara Strack and Jordan Obi posted a game-high 17 points each, while Amelia Hassett and Tonie Morgan added 11 apiece. Kentucky won the rebounding battle by nine, led by Strack’s game-high 13 boards. Morgan once again paced the Wildcats with six assists.

Kentucky’s defense was dominant once again in Tuesday’s win. The Wildcats recorded 10 blocked shots, five of them from Strack. Kentucky also forced the Boilermakers into nine turnovers, winning the turnover margin by three.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Louisville to take on the Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
