Toyota brings dozens of new jobs to Kentucky

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Toyota says it is expanding hybrid vehicle production with a new $912 million investment that will create hundreds of jobs across the country — including dozens in Kentucky.

According to Toyota, the company is increasing its U.S. manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for hybrid vehicles. The investment is part of Toyota’s broader commitment to spend up to $10 billion in the United States over the next five years.

Toyota says the $912 million expansion will support 252 new jobs across five U.S. manufacturing plants and add hybrid-electric Corollas to its production lineup.

In Kentucky, the company’s Georgetown plant — its largest manufacturing facility — will see 82 new jobs and the addition of a new machining line, according to Toyota.
