Two men charged in connection to pointing laser, firing shots at KSP helicopter

MASON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Two men are accused of pointing a laser and firing shots at a state police helicopter, during the search for a missing 11-year-old Robertson County child.

According to KSP, 49-year-old Jason McKee and 55-year-old Donald Boone were arrested on November 3rd, near Mayslick, in Mason County.

Both are facing multiple charges, including wanton endangerment.

State police say the men allegedly pointed laser beams, and fired shots, multiple times, at a KSP helicopter.

According to officials, a laser strike can temporarily blind or disorient a pilot. State police say the exposure physically injured the flight offer’s eyes.
