Lexington woman wanted after neglected dog found locked in crate, officials say

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Animal control officers are searching for a Lexington woman accused of abandoning a dog in extremely poor conditions over the summer.

According to Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control, officers rescued a pit bull named Sunday from a home on Osage Drive after receiving a complaint about an abandoned dog. Investigators say Sunday was found locked inside a crate, severely underweight, and covered in waste.

A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Aasia Perry in connection with the case.
