Car crashes into Lexington business

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A car crashed into the front of a market in Lexington Sunday afternoon, causing significant damage.

It happened at the Super Mercado in the Woodhill Plaza near the intersection of New Circle Road and Richmond Road.

No one inside the market was injured, but police say an elderly woman driving the car was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. A juvenile was also in the vehicle and had an injured to their ankle.

The car caused serious damage the front of the building, no word on how long the market might be closed.

Police are investigating what caused the woman to crash.
