KY National Guard is deploying to the Carolinas

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – More groups are leaving Kentucky to help in the Carolinas.

Sunday morning, the Kentucky Army National Guard deployed 60 army aviation troops to North Carolina.

The mission’s commander says answering the call for help from people in neighboring states is one of the best parts of being a guardsman.

Before these troops left, there were more than 75-hundred national guardsmen deployed in the Carolinas.  That included 12 Kentucky airmen.
