Sheriff: Shots fired during hit-and-run accident
KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people are under arrest, accused of a hit-and-run accident where shots were fired in Laurel County.
It happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The Knox County sheriff says deputies in Knox County spotted a car matching the description of the suspect’s car in a McDonald’s parking lot in Barbourville about 30 minutes later.
After stopping the car, the deputies say they found a 9MM handgun along with suspected methamphetamine and a set of digital scales.
They arrested 35-year-old Lawrence Collinsworth, of Corbin, and charged him with possession of firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance and driving on a DUI suspended license.
Deputies say the passenger in the car, 34-year-old Deanna Collinsworth, of Barbourville, was also arrested and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
