Blue Grass Airport introduces GoodMaps technology to enhance accessibility
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Blue Grass Airport is taking a major step toward improving accessibility for travelers of all abilities.
Airport officials unveiled GoodMaps, a new indoor navigation system designed to help visitors move through the terminal with ease. The technology offers turn-by-turn directions, audio guidance, and step-free routes, making it especially useful for travelers who are blind, visually impaired, or have mobility challenges.
GoodMaps also supports more than 18 languages, allowing international visitors to navigate the airport more easily.
Airport and GoodMaps representatives showcased the new system Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. inside the main terminal lobby. Officials say the technology marks a major milestone in promoting inclusion and accessibility for Central Kentucky travelers.
