Lexington woman indicted for murder in Bryan Station Road shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Fayette County grand jury has indicted a Lexington woman in connection with a deadly shooting that happened in August on Bryan Station Road.

According to Fayette Circuit Court records, 30-year-old Keaira Pennie has been indicted on a murder charge in the death of Edwin Haddix. Pennie is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at 9 a.m.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred just before midnight on August 10, 2025. Lexington Police say officers were called to the 1700 block of Bryan Station Road around 11:55 p.m. for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Haddix suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Pennie was arrested shortly after the incident and initially charged with murder. She remains held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
