Former UK student accused of concealing baby’s death ordered to wear electronic monitor
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A former University of Kentucky student accused of concealing the death of her baby will now be required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
According to court records, 21-year-old Laken Snelling — who was already on house arrest — must now begin electronic monitoring at her father’s home in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The order says she must contact pretrial services within seven days to start the new requirement.
Snelling was arrested in August and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant.
According to Lexington Police, Snelling is accused of hiding her deceased baby in a closet on Park Avenue, wrapped in a trash bag.
