Elusive dog finally captured after months of sightings
BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office says the “most elusive dog in Bourbon County history” has finally been caught after months of evading capture.
According to a post from the Sheriff’s Office, the dog had become a familiar sight around Bourbon County Schools, McDonald’s, and Circle K, earning a reputation as a skilled escape artist. Animal control and deputies say they received numerous calls over the past several months from people trying to help catch her.
That streak came to an end overnight when the dog broke into the Bourbon County Schools fieldhouse. Thursday morning, school staff spotted her, and with help from deputies and animal control, she was safely captured.
Officials say the dog is now in the care of Paws, where she will receive medical attention for minor injuries before hopefully finding a new home.
