11-year-old student arrested after alleged school threat
FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – An 11-year-old student has been arrested after allegedly making a bomb threat toward Adams Middle School in Floyd County.
According to the school district, the student was taken into custody Monday on a charge of terroristic threatening after reportedly sending a text message to another student claiming there was a bomb at the school.
As a precaution, officials say students were safely evacuated while police searched the building. Investigators found no evidence to suggest the threat was real, and authorities say students were never in danger.
The district shared a statement on Facebook thanking law enforcement and school staff for their quick response and cooperation during the investigation.
