Three arrested after car thefts and burglary in Winchester, police say

WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Winchester Police say three people are behind bars following a series of car thefts in the city’s southwest area.

According to investigators, Charles Clark was first arrested earlier this month after detectives received tips from the public that helped identify him as a suspect.

Police say on Thursday night, officers found Clark and two others hiding in the basement of a home on South Main Street, allegedly attempting to steal tools.

All three suspects were taken into custody and charged with second-degree burglary. Winchester Police said in a statement that thefts like these “will not be tolerated” in the community.
