Lexington Police charge 17-year-old in Monday shooting on Ascot Park

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Police say a 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a shooting that seriously injured a man Monday evening on Ascot Park.

According to police, officers were called to the 1200 block of Ascot Park around 6:35 p.m. on October 6. When they arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives identified the suspect during the investigation, and on Tuesday, October 7, the 17-year-old was charged with first-degree assault and minor in possession of a handgun.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
