Man accused of shooting his mother due in court

LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Laurel County man charged in a violent attack earlier this month is set to appear in court Tuesday.

Deputies say 39-year-old Beve Dewayne Begley was arrested after a shooting at a home on Guy Greene Road, just south of London. Investigators say Begley’s mother was shot in the arm and later flown to UK Medical Center, where she remains unresponsive.

Two other men were also hospitalized with serious head injuries after being struck with the pistol. A four-year-old child was inside the home at the time but was not hurt.

Begley is facing charges of attempted murder, assault, and wanton endangerment.
