UK football player arrested on sexual abuse charge
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A UK football player has been arrested and is now facing charges of sexual abuse.
According to police, they received a report of unwanted sexual contact on Wednesday, August 20th.
Officials say the incident happened at a residence on S. Upper Street.
Police arrested 21-year-old Jamarion Wilcox, on Friday, September 26, Wilcox is facing a charge of sexual abuse.
We reached out to the university for a statement, they say “we are aware of the situation with Jamarion and will continue to gather information and monitor the situation closely. He will continue to be withheld from competition and will not travel to South Carolina,” said Susan Lax, Director of Athletics Communications and Public Relations / Primary Football Contact with UK Athletics.
