KSP investigating officer-involved shooting in Perry County

SCUDDY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police say it is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Perry County.

According to a KSP news release, the incident happened Wednesday afternoon on Scuddy Mountain Road. No injuries were reported, and one person was arrested.

Investigators say a DEA Task Force, made up of officers from several agencies, was at a residence where a man had already been taken into custody as part of a separate investigation. As officers prepared to leave, a woman came out of the home with a firearm.

KSP says she fired in the direction of a law enforcement vehicle with several officers inside, hitting the vehicle. Officers ordered her to drop the weapon, which she did.

Troopers identified the woman as 30-year-old Ashley Lewis-Begley. She was arrested at the scene without further incident.

The case remains under investigation by the KSP Critical Incident Response Team.
