Tow truck drivers honor fallen colleague

MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Tow truck drivers across Kentucky are coming together Thursday to honor one of their own.

A rolling memorial is being held for Troy Caldwell, a tow operator who was killed on I-64 after a semi failed to move over.

The event begins at 4 p.m. at the Eagle Travel Center in Morehead. From there, drivers will line the interstate with their lights on, both to remember Caldwell and to push for stronger protections under “Troy’s Law.”

Organizers say the memorial is not only about honoring Troy’s life but also raising awareness of the need for all drivers to slow down and move over when roadside crews are at work.
