Person shot in Lexington neighborhood; life-threatening injuries, say police

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man is in the hospital after being shot late Thursday morning in north Lexington.

Police say the shooting happened just after 11 a.m. near Winburn Drive and McCullough Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say they do not believe there’s an ongoing threat to the public, though they haven’t released any details about a possible suspect.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lexington Police.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington police have converged on a neighborhood in the Winburn Dr. and McCullough Dr. area.

Right now, ABC 36 News Now is in touch with LPD, and awaiting information from police on a shooting call.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, they were called out just after 11:00 Thursday morning. Officials confirm a crew took a shooting victim, with life-threatening injuries, to the hospital. No word on their current condition.
