Iron Pour to Heat Up the Bluegrass
The iron pour, which begins 1 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd, at the metal arts studio at Reynolds Building Number 2, is the highlight of a week of festivities celebrating the metal arts program at UK. Other festivities scheduled in conjunction with the iron pour are mold-making workshops, two exhibitions featuring work by students and alumni, and a lecture by visiting artist Daniel Hunt, of Kansas State University.
The program showcasing UK’s metal arts programs begins with two exhibitions. "UK Sculpture: Past, Present, and Future," an iron art exhibition featuring the work of alumni and guest artists, will run through November 2nd, in the Tuska Center for Contemporary Art, located in the Fine Arts Building.
The exhibition and reception are free and open the public.
