London councilmember and ex-girlfriend due in court

LONDON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A London City Council member and his former girlfriend are both in court Wednesday on domestic violence charges.

Justin Young, 49, was arrested Monday after his former girlfriend, Crystal Hoskins, accused him of assaulting her in May and July. He faces charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief.

Hoskins, however, is also facing charges. Deputies say she was arrested following an August altercation and is charged with third-degree terroristic threatening and fourth-degree domestic assault. Investigators say Young has photos and video showing bite marks from that incident.
