London city councilman charged in domestic violence case
LONDON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A London City Council member is facing domestic violence charges after being accused of assaulting his former girlfriend earlier this year.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Justin Young was arrested Monday after Crystal Hoskins reported incidents in May and July. Young is charged with fourth-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief.
In a related case, Hoskins has also been charged with third-degree terroristic threatening and fourth-degree domestic assault, following an August altercation. Deputies say Young has provided photos and video of bite marks from that incident.
Young, who recently cast a key vote to remove London’s mayor from office, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
