Man involved in officer-involved shooting in court
ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Lawrenceburg man critically injured in an officer-involved shooting nearly two years ago is back in court.
Court records show 24-year-old Daejon Rucker appeared Tuesday for a status hearing related to charges from a December 2023 shooting outside a McDonald’s in Lawrenceburg.
According to Kentucky State Police, Rucker opened fire on officers David Goodlett and John Myles on December 23, 2023. Both officers returned fire, critically injuring him. Rucker was hospitalized for weeks before facing charges of attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment, and violating an emergency protective order.
As part of department policy, both officers were placed on two weeks of paid leave following the incident.
