LPD makes arrest in December murder case

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police have charged a man for a murder that happened almost a year ago.

Officers accuse 40-year-old Lawrence Westbrook III of shooting and killing 39-year-old Rachel Preston the night after Christmas last year.

Officers found her dead on the side of Tates Creek Road near Wicked World Scare Grounds.

Officers say their investigation led them to Westbrook. They’ve arrested him not only on murder charges, but also on several drug related offenses.
