One-year-old child drowns in Harlan County, coroner investigating

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Harlan County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a one-year-old child following an apparent drowning.

Officials say they were notified Saturday evening, August 30, after the child was brought to the emergency department at Harlan ARH. Coroner John Derrick Noe responded and pronounced the child deceased.

Due to the child’s age, no additional details are being released. The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police and the Harlan County Coroner’s Office.
