Road open after closure following chlorine gas leak

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Traffic is moving again after a chlorine leak shut down the road in front of the Mount Vernon Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday.

According to police, the incident happened at the water department facility on Richmond Street in the Renfro Valley area.

The Mount Vernon Fire Department’s hazardous materials task force responded to stop the leak. Officials say there was no danger to the outside community.
