“Hands Across-Stand Together” unity event planned

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Mayor Linda Gorton has issued a proclamation in support of Lexington’s “Hands Across–Stand Together” unity event, honoring the 62nd anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech.

The event is scheduled for noon, with participants standing hand in hand across the community—from New Circle Road, along Versailles Road, and extending through Main Street and Winchester Road.

Organizers say the gathering is meant to reflect unity, equality, and shared purpose across Lexington.
