Baptist Health Lexington donates backpacks in honor of Jayden Spicer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A generous act from Baptist Health Lexington is bringing hope to children in foster care.

The hospital partnered with Aspire Appalachia to support the “Jayden Initiative,” created in memory of Jayden Spicer, a Jackson boy who passed away earlier this month. Jayden’s legacy of positivity inspired staff to donate more than 60 backpacks filled with supplies and comfort items for children entering foster care.

Organizers say the effort is about more than school supplies—it’s about carrying hope forward. Aspire Appalachia called the initiative a reminder that “it’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into it.”
