London-Corbin Airport celebrates reopening of Air Evac Lifeteam base
LONDON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The city of London is continuing to rebuild after the tornado that tore through the area, and one major step forward is now visible at the London-Corbin Airport.
Airport officials shared that the Air Evac Lifeteam base has officially reopened, restoring critical air ambulance services to the region. The rebuilt facility ensures that emergency crews can once again provide rapid response for medical needs across southeastern Kentucky.
A hangar for Air Evac Lifeteam 179 is also nearing completion, giving the community another milestone in its ongoing recovery.
City leaders say progress is happening one step at a time but emphasize that the resilience and spirit of London remain strong as the rebuilding continues.
