Kentucky American Water replacing water mains
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky American Water has announced a $4.5 million investment in water main replacements throughout Lexington.
The project will replace aging cast iron water mains with new ductile iron pipes on streets including Devine, Euclid, Fontaine, Walton, Warwick, and Wilderness roads. Contractors will also upgrade fire hydrants, valves, meters, and utility service lines.
The work is part of the company’s Qualified Infrastructure Program and aims to improve service reliability and water quality for customers.
Crews will generally work Monday through Friday during daytime hours, weather permitting. Traffic restrictions and alternating lanes may occur near work sites, and Kentucky American Water is urging drivers and pedestrians to use caution while crews are on site.
