Richmond man wins jackpot with first ever Fast Play ticket
RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Richmond man hit the jackpot with his first-ever Kentucky Lottery Fast Play ticket.
He bought a $2 Big W!N ticket at Kroger with spare change, thinking he had won just $96. But when told it was too large to cash, he realized he had matched the number 20 — winning 20% of the $493,000 jackpot, totaling about $98,622.
He and his wife claimed their prize earlier this month, taking home $71,000 after taxes. The couple plans to buy a home, a new vehicle, and save the rest.
The winner says he’ll continue to play Powerball and Fast Play — but in moderation.
Fast Play offers instant cash prizes and a progressive jackpot starting at $10,000. The odds of winning the Big W!N jackpot are one in 240,000.
Kentucky Lottery officials remind players that proceeds support education, helping fund scholarships and grants for more than one million students.
