Frankfort Police issue safety reminder for student’s parents and guardians

FRANKFORT, Ky.
(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – With students back in school, the Frankfort Police Department is reminding parents and guardians about traffic safety during afternoon pickup.

Police say there is no stopping, standing, or parking allowed on Hiawatha Trail for student pickup. Officers note that signs are clearly posted and that stopping in this area can create traffic congestion and increase safety risks for both students and drivers.

Authorities are urging families to use the designated school pickup lines, which are designed to be the safest and most efficient option. Police also say officers will be patrolling the area and strictly enforcing all parking regulations.

The department emphasized that cooperation from parents, guardians, and drivers is key to keeping students and the community safe throughout the school year.
