A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Douglass Aquatic Center

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A major splash is coming to Lexington as city leaders officially cut the ribbon Thursday on the redesigned Douglass Aquatic Center.

After years of construction, the historic Douglass Pool has been upgraded with several new features. The improvements include Kentucky’s first “wet bubble” aquatic attraction, a splash pad, and the largest water slide in Lexington.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Douglass Aquatic Center on Howard Street.
