Man back in court for competency hearing

SOMERSET, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The case against a Pulaski County man, facing murder charges in connection with a 2022 shooting, has been pushed back to next month.

That ruling came Wednesday during a competency hearing in court.

Investigators say John Stacy of Somerset assaulted a woman at gunpoint before police responded later that day to a shooting on Paradise Lake Drive, where police say the victim died at the scene.

Stacy, already considered a person of interest in the case, was stopped by a deputy and taken into custody. He faces charges including murder and attempted murder.
