U.K. Healthcare offers donor registry through MyChart

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – UK HealthCare is making it easier for patients to register as organ, eye, or tissue donors with a new feature in its Epic MyChart patient portal. The system allows adults to register directly from their phone or computer in a completely private and secure way.

UK HealthCare is the first in Kentucky to offer this option. Transplant officials note that one donor can save up to eight lives and help dozens more through tissue and eye donations. With more than 1,000 Kentuckians currently waiting for life-saving transplants, officials say streamlining registration could make a major impact.

The MyChart feature is part of UK HealthCare’s broader push toward digital innovation and patient empowerment, giving more people the chance to make a life-saving difference.
