$1.8 million allocated for skills training

FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky is making a major investment in its workforce. Governor Andy Beshear has announced $1.8 million in state funding to provide skills training for nearly 2,300 Kentuckians.

The funding comes through the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation, which has supported more than 143,000 workers since 2022. Beshear says the program equips people with the tools they need to grow while positioning communities for future economic success.

Companies receiving support in this round include James Marine in Paducah, Lyons Magnus East in Walton, and CertainTeed Gypsum in Silver Grove, among others. This marks the first round of approvals for the new fiscal year.
