Two people arrested after Clay Co. traffic stop

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two people are facing drug charges in Clay County.

Police arrested 37-year-old Michael Sams and 50-year-old Sandra Reid Sunday morning during a traffic stop near a school.

According to an arrest citation, officers puled the truck over after 2 a.m. when they saw it without registration plates on U.S. Highway 421.

Police say they smelled weed and saw a gun and ammunition in the truck.

After a search, officers say they found pills, weed, handguns, and a lot of cash.
