Funeral plans for 10-year-old Jayden Spicer

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Funeral plans have been set for 10-year-old Jayden Spicer, whose body was found buried in the woods last week in Breathitt County.

According to his obituary, visitation will take place Thursday at Breathitt Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.

State police said Jayden’s body was discovered last Tuesday inside a plastic tote in a wooded area on Canoe Road in Jackson. Crews had been searching for him for nearly a week after his mother, 33-year-old Felicia Gross, reported him missing on August 6.

Investigators said Gross later admitted to taking her son’s body to the woods, telling authorities he died after she gave him sleeping medication. Gross is facing charges of manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, false reporting, and tampering with physical evidence. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment last week and was scheduled to return to Breathitt County court Monday for a preliminary hearing.
