Devine Carama talks gun violence in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – In the wake of three shootings over the weekend, One Lexington Director Devine Carama says the incidents highlight the need for continued community action.
Carama told ABC 36 News that the shootings have been varied in circumstances — one involving unhoused individuals, another involving a young person, and a third potentially tied to a domestic situation.
He stressed that the violence is not confined to any one demographic or neighborhood, but reflects a broader societal challenge. Carama added that while progress has been made, there is still work to be done to address the underlying causes.
Anyone with information about any of the recent shootings is urged to contact Lexington Police or submit anonymous tips to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
