Perry County authorities search for man accused of stealing deputy’s cruiser
PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Authorities in Perry County are searching for a man they say escaped custody and stole a sheriff’s office cruiser.
Investigators say Chris Combs was in handcuffs with his hands behind his back in the back seat of a deputy’s Dodge Charger at the county park on Tuesday when he got free and drove off in the cruiser.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says Combs had been arrested on an indictment warrant before his escape. Deputies say they found meth and a large amount of cash during the arrest.
Combs is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities say if you see him, do not approach and instead call 911.
