School bus driver killed in crash, community mourns
GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Garrard County community is grieving after a longtime school bus driver was killed in a crash Wednesday.
According to the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office, 64-year-old Steve Moore died after the school bus he was driving left the road and crashed on State Road 1295 near Hurt Lane in Lancaster. No students were on board at the time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
In a statement, the Garrard County School District superintendent said, “Steve Moore was more than just a bus driver — he was a trusted member of our school family whose dedication and kindness impacted generations of students.”
