Inner loop of New Circle Road closed for cleanup after garbage truck fire

UPDATE: Lexington police now say one lane is open to traffic.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The inner loop of New Circle Road remains closed between Versailles Road and Old Frankfort Pike as crews continue cleanup following a garbage truck fire late Thursday morning.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, motorists on the inner loop should exit onto Harrodsburg Road. The closure is expected to last another one to two hours.

Firefighters responded just before noon to the blaze and quickly brought it under control. No injuries were reported.
