One year later, investigation continues into deadly El Cid mass shooting in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — More than a year has passed since a deadly mass shooting outside the former El Cid restaurant, and Lexington Police say the investigation remains open.
The shooting happened early in the morning on August 9, 2024, near National and Walton Avenues. Six people were shot, including 31-year-old Antoine Clay, who died from his injuries. The other five victims survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
El Cid had been served an eviction notice and ordered to vacate the property by August 12, 2024.
