Laurel County deputies searching for suspects after motel incident

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two individuals involved in a dangerous incident at a motel in southern Laurel County.

According to a flyer shared on the department’s Facebook page, deputies say 37-year-old Lissa Marie Shephard of Springport, Michigan, and a second unidentified male suspect — possibly named “Darnell” — were seen on surveillance video at the scene. Authorities say the two allegedly busted out a window and fled in a white Ford Focus, reportedly nearly running over people in the parking lot while driving away.

A warrant has been issued for Shephard on a charge of wanton endangerment. Officials are asking anyone who recognizes the man or knows the current whereabouts of either individual to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at 606-864-6600, send a message through the department’s Facebook page, or email g.acciardo@laurelcountysheriff.gov. All information will be kept confidential.
