Montgomery County deputies searching for wanted man on rape and sodomy charges

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on serious criminal charges.

Officials say 40-year-old Raymundo Pelayo of Mount Sterling is wanted on a Montgomery County indictment warrant for one count of first-degree rape (incapable of consent/physically helpless) and one count of first-degree sodomy (incapable of consent/physically helpless). Authorities say Pelayo also failed to appear in Montgomery District Court, resulting in a second warrant.

Detectives were assisted in the investigation by the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General.
