Franklin County students receive more than 700 pairs of shoes ahead of new school year
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Hundreds of families in Franklin County got a back-to-school boost over the weekend, thanks to a major community effort to support local students.
According to organizers, 732 pairs of shoes were handed out to students through a partnership between the Family Resource and Youth Services Centers and generous donors. In total, the event funneled more than $14,000 back into the community.
The goal was to help children start the new school year with confidence and comfort.
Organizers say they’re thankful for the continued support—and already looking ahead to next year’s giveaway.
