Shih Tzu puppy stolen from Petland Lexington; woman seen on camera

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) Petland Lexington is asking for the public’s help after a Shih Tzu puppy was stolen from the store over the weekend.

According to the business, the incident happened just before noon on Saturday, August 2. Surveillance footage shows a woman entering the store, asking to see a Shih Tzu puppy. While a team member briefly stepped away, the woman was seen placing the puppy in her purse and walking out of the store.

The suspect is believed to have left the scene in a red SUV.

Petland says its top priority is the safe return of the puppy. Anyone who recognizes the woman or has information about the puppy’s whereabouts is urged to contact Lexington Police.
