KSP: Man dies from gunshot wound after killing girlfriend

HITCHINS, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a Carter County man who fatally shot his girlfriend then turned the gun on himself has died.

State Police say troopers were called about a shooting at a home on Winding Way in Hitchins around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

When the troopers went into the home, they say they found 54-year-old Billy Suttles and his live-in girlfriend, 49-year-old Rebecca Lancaster, both suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suttles was taken to the hospital where he later died.
