Monument to remember lives lost from deadly flooding

BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Monday marked an emotional anniversary in Breathitt County, as the community came together at Main Street Park to remember those lost in the devastating flood of July 28, 2022.

Hosted by the Jackson Woman’s Club, the event was described as a powerful day of remembrance—a moment to reflect, honor lives lost, and stand together as a community still healing.

Organizers say while loved ones may be gone, they are never forgotten.
